Leading Russian and international experts convened to address pressing issues in pediatric healthcare at the National Outreach Conference of the «5P Pediatric Medicine» Consortium. The event was organized by the «5P Consortium», the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region, and OSMU.
Our University is a member of the «5P Consortium» alongside the Research and Clinical Institute for Pediatrics named after Academician Yu. Veltischev, Research Clinical Institute of Childhood of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, Research Centre for Medical Genetics, G.N. Gabrichevsky Moscow Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Ural State Medical University, Federal Scientific and Clinical Center for Infectious Diseases of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, The National Children’s Medical Center (Uzbekistan), Prof. V.F. Voino-Yasenetsky Krasnoyarsk State Medical University, Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education, Gomel State Medical University, Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University, and Bashkir State Medical University.
The «5P Pediatric Medicine» Congress serves as a platform for professional dialogue and collaboration among like-minded colleagues, fostering communication and mutual enrichment through the exchange of valuable experience and knowledge. Members of the Consortium conduct joint research projects, develop and substantiate scientific protocols, publish academic literature, provide telemedicine consultations, refer patients for specialized treatment, and organize scientific and educational events.
The National Outreach Conference of the «5P Pediatric Medicine» Consortium, hosted by our University, became one such significant event. Over two days, experts presented best clinical practices and contemporary approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric diseases during thematic symposia dedicated to innovative strategies in pediatrics, respiratory and infectious diseases, rare conditions, and other relevant topics. A special panel discussion entitled «The Year of Biological Safety» offered an additional platform for professional exchange.
The scientific program of the Congress was built upon the five principles of medicine: prediction, personalization, prevention, partnership, and predictive medicine. These principles align with the key priorities of national healthcare and medical science development programs.
Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), OSMU Rector, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, spoke on the major trends in gastroenterology during the session devoted to innovative strategies in pediatrics.
Within the same symposium, Prof. Nuriniso D. ODINAEVA, MD, PhD, Director of Research Clinical Institute of Childhood of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, Professor of the Department of Pediatric Diseases at the Moscow Regional Research Clinical Institute named after M.F. Vladimirsky, presented a report on the global strategy for infant and young child feeding.
Prof. Elena B. PAVLINOVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Head of the Department of Pediatrics (Advanced Level), including Postgraduate Training Courses, outlined modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of bronchopulmonary dysplasia in children.
In total, more than 300 specialists, including pediatricians, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, geneticists, infectious disease physicians, and medical residents from various regions of Russia, took part in the event.
In addition, dedicated lectures were delivered at OSMU for students of the Pediatric Faculty and residents in pediatric specialties: «Nutrition of a Healthy Infant» by Prof. Nuriniso D. ODINAEVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), and «Innovative Diagnostic Technologies for Hereditary Lung Diseases» by Prof. Elena I. KONDRATYEVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Deputy Director for Research at Research Clinical Institute of Childhood of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, Head of the Department of Genetics of Respiratory Diseases.
The Conference concluded with the master class «Communicating a Difficult Diagnosis», prepared by specialists from the Training Center of the Research Clinical Institute of Childhood.
