National Olympiad “Life Safety at the Current Stage”

The National Olympiad with international participation “Life Safety at the Current Stage” was held at the Department of Disaster Medicine and Life Safety of Voronezh State Medical University (VSMU) named after N.N. Burdenko.

Nine teams from six medical universities participated in the Olympiad: VSMU, Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov, Ryazan State Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlov, Omsk State Medical University, Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, and Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev. OSMU team "Lights of Safety" was represented by 5th-year student of the Faculty of General Medicine Tatyana YAKUBENKO and 6th-year student of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine Daria EGOROVA. The team leader, Natalia V. SEMENOVA, MD, PhD (in Medicine), Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Extreme and Evidence Based Medicine, served on the organizing committee and jury.

The participants submitted videos to the organizing committee and presented papers on the most pressing issues of modern safety in the scientific section: technosphere, social, biological, and occupational safety of healthcare workers. The results were announced on March 23, and our university's team took first place in the "Scientific Competition" for their work assessing the working conditions and health of paramedics. OSMU team also received a third-place diploma in the "Homework" competition, which required them to outline the role of life safety in medical practice.
