National Scientific e-Conference on the 45th Anniversary of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry
On November 23, 2021, the National Scientific e-Conference with International Participation «Children’s Dental Health» was held on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
- Thanks to the remote format of the Conference, participants had a unique chance to hear from world-class pediatric dentists, including Prof. T.N. TEREKHOVA (Minsk, Belarus), A.N. ANTONOVA (Khabarovsk), E.E. Maslak (Volgograd), N.V. Ozhgikhina (Ekaterinburg) – said G.I. SKRIPKINA, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, in her opening speech.
In the report of G.I. Skripkina, she told about the historical milestones of the Department's long history, the fields of work and research-oriented activities. The staff of the Department can be rightfully proud of their scientific inventions, including preventive and therapeutic dental gels, which have no analogs in the world. Today, the priority tasks in the Department include caries risk assessment in children, an individualized approach to prevention of this condition, and a prophylaxis program in the Region.
A.A. Antonova, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Far Eastern State Medical University, devoted her report to the personalized approach to the prevention of dental diseases.
Report of T.N. Terekhova, MD, PhD, Prof. of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Belarusian State Medical University, and A.V. Butvilovskii, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Preventive Dentistry №2, Belarusian State Medical University, was devoted to the prevention and treatment of caries in young children.
E.E. Maslak, MD, PhD, Prof. of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Volgograd State Medical University, has told about modern methods of pulp therapy in the primary dentition.
Participants have learned about current data on the clinical manifestations and treatment of dental malformations in children from the report of N.V. Ozhgikhina, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics.
The Conference was interesting and informative for everyone. The participants of the meeting promised to gather in Omsk for the anniversary of the Department and present their reports in the onsite format. We will look forward to another meeting!
