On March 22, 2024, the National Scientific and Practical Сonference "Neurology Firsthand", organized by OSMU with the support of the Omsk regional public organization "Association of Neurologists of the Omsk region", was held. The event was held in a hybrid format, which allowed us to gather a huge number of listeners – neurologists, internists, general practitioners, hospital managers and also students and residents of OSMU.
During the Conference, topical issues of modern neurology and a number of interdisciplinary issues, especially relevant for the treatment of comorbid patients, were discussed. The topic of the Conference is related to the understanding of various nosological forms that occur within the framework of an outpatient appointment of a neurologist – these are cognitive disorders, pain syndromes, anxiety and depressive disorders, etc.
The speakers were scientists and practitioners from Moscow, Novosibirsk, and Omsk. OSMU was represented by Roman A. DELOV, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Neurology and Neurosurgery Department, including Postgraduate Training Courses. He made two reports: "Modern Strategy of Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Pain Syndrome in Neurological Practice" and "Cognitive Potential – How Not to Lose the Last Neurons?"
The audience focused on reports on diabetic polyneuropathy, musculoskeletal back pain and strategies for choosing nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment of chronic brain ischemia from the standpoint of evidence-based medicine, vascular cognitive disorders at a young age, vascular dementia and many other issues.
Without a doubt, the Conference attracted the attention of talented scientists to the problems of neurology, facilitated the exchange of relevant information and the expansion of scientific and practical horizons.
