Omsk State Medical University Launches Presidential Grant Project to Strengthen Regional Healthcare System

On February 27, OSMU hosted the kick-off event for the project #We_Help_You_Stay_Healthy_2_0, implemented by the Omsk Regional Public Organization «Omsk Regional Association of Healthcare Workers». The initiative is among the winners of the first Presidential Grants Competition for the Development of Civil Society, awarded to socially oriented non-profit organizations.

The project aims to support and further develop the regional healthcare and medical education systems, coordinate assistance to central district hospitals in the municipal districts of the Omsk Region, and promote healthy lifestyles among children and young people. The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with government authorities, healthcare and educational institutions, socially oriented non-profit organizations, and their partners within the framework of the federal projects «Development of Primary Healthcare Delivery System» and «Combating Oncological Diseases».

The project includes a comprehensive set of joint activities designed to create conditions for early disease detection among residents of the Omsk Region, provide health-improvement procedures, and conduct educational outreach campaigns in social service institutions and secondary schools in the city of Omsk and across the region’s municipal districts.

Among the honored guests were Yuri A. MARTYNOV, Deputy Minister of Health of the Omsk Region; representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Omsk Region, the Ministry of Youth Policy of the Omsk Region, and the Ministry of Education of the Omsk Region; Sergei BYSTRUSHKIN, Head of the Healthcare Workers’ Trade Union of Omsk; Leonid L. SHULKIN, Editor of the regional journal «Trade Union and Medicine» and the online newspaper «Trade Union Bulletin»; Igor A. ONUFRIEV, Vice-Rector of Omsk State Medical University; Elvira N. ASTAFYEVA, Head of the Youth Policy Department of Omsk State Medical University; student representatives of the Medical Volunteers movement (Omsk Region); representatives of the S.I. Manyakin Foundation; Evgeny MEDVEDCHIKOV, Project Leader and Deputy Chief Physician of the Omsk Dermatovenerologic Dispensary; Margarita G. DVORAK, Head of the «Healthy Omsk» Department; as well as the project’s social partners, including Elena ROSINSKAYA, Deputy Head of the Business Development Department of Gazprombank (West Siberian Branch); Irina A. ZHURAVLEVA, PhD (in Law), General Director of the Innovation and Project Center «SKAZKA» and member of the Russian Bar Association (Omsk Region); and Tatyana P. VESELKOVA, representative of the Comprehensive Social Service Center «Penaty».

During the open working meeting, participants took part in an in-person anonymous vote to select the project logo, reviewed draft promotional materials and a project presentation, and heard partners share their experience in implementing the project’s key modules. Discussions focused on coordinating efforts between organizers and partners with healthcare, educational, and social service institutions in the municipal districts of the Omsk Region, where project activities will be carried out, as well as on providing targeted assistance to beneficiaries, including participants of the Special Military Operation and their family members.

All attendees received informational materials about the initiative, which is being implemented with the support of a Presidential Grant provided by the Presidential Grants Foundation.

On March 2, the Comprehensive Social Service Center «Penaty» in the Central Administrative District of Omsk launched health-promoting procedures for its service recipients using the AGG-03 halogenerator.
