The book “Memory in Stones” has been published on the occasion of the centenary of the Omsk State Medical University. The author of the book is Professor Ivan I. TASKAEV, veteran of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology. The book includes the information on the history of the Omsk Medical Institute, its development and establishment of faculties.
Over this period, dynasties of doctors have been studying here. Graduates work in different cities and countries including Germany, Israel, Czech Republic, Canada, Australia and many others.
An exceptional photo archive can be found in the book: portraits of lecturers, photos of the presentations of “Literary Miscellanies”. You can also see the photos of burial places of Omsk doctors and their monuments. In total, the book contains about 100 photos reflecting the history of medicine. Such kind of photo archive can be of great interest to all generations of Russian doctors.
Moreover, the book describes important historic events, such as Alapayevsk drama, tragic year 1937, the drama of World War II, and so on.
