On October 23, OSMU became a venue for the Regional First Aid Championship in order to provide career guidance to schoolchildren, university students and vocational schools. Students of Medical Volunteers, Siberian Help team, dance ensembles Inspiration, Fantasy and TB hip-hop group took part in its organization of the event.
Twenty teams from six districts of the Omsk region and Omsk demonstrated practical skills in a competitive format using simulators: stopping bleeding, assisting with loss of consciousness, performing CPR, managing airway obstruction, and dealing with stressful situations such as burns and fainting. Instructors from the regional branch of the Russian Red Cross assessed the speed of completion and the number of errors.
Based on the results of all competitions, the winners of the Regional First Aid Championship were two teams of schoolchildren (aged 11-13 and 14-17) from the Novovarshevsky district, students of the Omsk Region Medical College, and students from the Omsk State Agrarian University. In addition to prizes, the winners received a spot at the Russian Final First Aid Championship, which will be held in Moscow at the Festival of Childhood and Youth.
The Council of the regional branch of the “Movement of the Firsts” in the Omsk Region expresses its gratitude to our University for its assistance in holding the event and hopes to strengthen partnership relations, jointly implement new ideas, and maintain long‑term cooperation.
