On November 30, OSMU hosted the 102nd Interregional Scientific Conference organized by the Russian Scientific Medical Society of Internal Medicine (RSMSIM), dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Prof. Semyon S. ZIMNITSKY's birth. The event was organized by RSMSIM, OSMU, and the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region, with the support of the European Federation of Internal Medicine (EFIM), the International Society of Internal Medicine (ISIM), and the Russian Medical Society.
Prof. Anatoly I. MARTYNOV, MD, PhD, President of RSMSIM, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Assoc. Prof. Nikolay A. NIKOLAEV, Head of the OSMU Department of Extreme and Evidence Based Medicine, Chief Editor of the «Scientific Bulletin of Omsk State Medical University» journal, Chairperson of the RSMSIM «Adherence to Treatment» section, Head of the International Scientific Collaboration for the Study of Adherence, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the significance of the event. Other notable speakers included Prof. Inna A. VIKTOROVA, MD, PhD, Head of the OSMU Department of Internal Medicine and Outpatient Care, Chief External Specialist in Internal Medicine at the Ministry of Public Health of the Omsk Region.
The Conference program included 36 reports, addressing challenges in diagnosis, prophylaxis, and treatment, encountered by specialists in internal diseases in their clinical practice.
The plenary session included reports on topics such as asymptomatic bacteriuria in the practice of a therapist, presented by Prof. Anatoly I. MARTYNOV, and various aspects of arterial hypertension, addressed by Prof. Olga Yu. KORENNOVA, MD, PhD, Chief Doctor at the Clinical Cardiology Dispensary, and a concluding report by Assoc. Prof. Nikolay A. NIKOLAEV, entitled «Doctor, Patient, Adherence: The New Reality of the 21st Century».
Subsequent sessions delved into significant issues related to the most prevalent diseases in the Russian population. Prof. Anatoly I. MARTYNOV presented a series of reports, covering the modern perspective on iron deficiency, kidney health in patients with hypertension, pain syndrome in the practice of a general practitioner, and anxiety as a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Andrey G. MALYAVIN, MD, PhD, Prof. of the Department of Phthisiology and Pulmonology of the Medical Faculty, Deputy Head of the Science Department at A.I. Evdokimov Moscow State Medical University, General Director of the Respiratory Medicine Center, Chief External Specialist in Pulmonology of the Ministry of Public Health of the Russian Federation for the Central Federal District, General Secretary of RSMSIM, presented a report on prevention, treatment, rehabilitation of respiratory infections.
The teaching staff of OSMU contributed many presentations, addressing a spectrum of daily challenges faced by specialists in internal diseases. Topics ranged from an interdisciplinary approach to complex patients in the office of a general practitioner to crucial aspects of improving patients' quality of life and managing comorbid conditions. The Conference attracted the participation of over 1000 specialists from the Omsk Region and beyond Russia.
