OSMU hosted the Scientific Conference «Modern Aspects of the Diagnosis and Treatment of Digestive Diseases». The event brought together internists, gastroenterologists, general practitioners, and postgraduate students and residents of OSMU.
The speakers were leading specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases from medical universities of Omsk and Novosibirsk. Most of them represented OSMU: Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), OSMU Rector, Corresponding Member of RAS, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine (Intermediate Level) and Gastroenterology; Prof. Vadim A. AKHMEDOV, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Head of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation, including Postgraduate Training Courses; Assoc. Prof. Sergey I. MOZGOVOY, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Professor of the Department of Morbid Anatomy; Assoc. Prof. Elena A. LYALYUKOVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Professor of the Department of Internal and Family Medicine, including Postgraduate Training Courses; Assoc. Prof. Olga V. GAUS, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine (Intermediate Level) and Gastroenterology; and Assoc. Prof. Galiya R. BIKBAVOVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine (Advanced Level) and Endocrinology.
Novosibirsk State Medical University was represented by Prof. Marina F. OSIPENKO, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases at NSMU. She delivered a report dedicated to hepatic encephalopathy.
The key speaker of the event was Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, who presented reports on current gastroenterological diseases, their diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. The reports focused on functional dyspepsia and functional disorders of the biliary tract in light of the Rome V consensus, as well as modern approaches to H. pylori eradication therapy and drug-induced liver injury.
Following the presentations, the audience actively asked questions, demonstrating the relevance of the topics addressed by the speakers and their importance for current professional practice. The Conference provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and practical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases, both in everyday clinical practice and in view of rapidly developing concepts of disease pathogenesis and targeted therapy.
