On April 27-29, III National Competition «Corporate Museum» took place in Saint Petersburg, aimed at noting the achievement of the best Russian corporate museums.
Corporate museums preserve the traditions and history of the organizations and become a platform for the creation of new ideas and career guidance for the younger generation.
The competition brought together 62 museums from 37 Russian cities. The country's largest companies and University museums, including OSMU Museum, have presented 123 projects in a total of 14 categories.
Lyudmila A. YAGODINSKAYA, Head of OSMU Museum, has presented the project «University History as a Subject of Museum Research». The experts praised the work for its scope, depth, and undeniable importance, and awarded OSMU Museum the Special Prize in the category "Museum Studies" for its contribution to maintaining intergenerational connection.
The work of the museum for the OSMU centenary has deserved an honorable mention from the experts. The book «The Source of Mercy. OSMU History: 1920-2020», published to time the OSMU centenary, has embodied the idea of an unbreakable bond between the Soviet and post-Soviet generations of students and teachers. A large electronic database of OSMU Museum became the basis for three major projects: dedicated to the life of the University during the Great Patriotic War, the history of the Komsomol organization in OSMU, and OSMU Honorary Professors and excellent workers.
Nowadays, OSMU Museum provides priceless material for education and research at the University.
