
Representatives of OSMU presented their reports at the XXVI National Scientific Forum "Mother and Child" in Moscow. The Forum brought together over 5600 delegates from 85 Russian regions and 13 countries and took place on September 24-26.
The key topics of the presentations were health monitoring of both women and men as a part of preparing for pregnancy, supporting pregnant women in their reproductive choices, reducing maternal and infant mortality, early diagnosis and appropriate correction of congenital defects in the fetus and hereditary diseases in newborns through accurate ultrasound diagnostics, expanded neonatal and cardiac screening, and high-tech fetal surgeries or surgeries performed as soon as possible after birth and stabilization of the baby's condition.
The heads of both Obstetrics and Gynecology Departments of our university, Prof. Sergey V. BARINOV, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Assoc. Prof. Irina V. SAVELIEVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), presented their reports to the professional community: "Real-World Clinical Practice in the Treatment of VTI," "Asymptomatic Bacteriuria in Pregnant Women: Treat Don't Ignore (Where to Put the Comma?)," "Childbirth in Patients After Metroplasty with Placenta Accreta Spectrum," and "New Possibilities of Pain Relief in Labor."
Attending such events is crucial for practicing doctors, so Galina V. KRIVCHIK, MD, PhD (in Medicine), Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №1, and Larisa V. KUKLINA, MD, PhD (in Medicine), Deputy Chief Physicians of the City Clinical Perinatal Center and the Women's Hospital, respectively, participated in the "Mother and Child" Forum. Interdisciplinary collaboration, acquaintance with presentations and experience of colleagues from leading healthcare institutions help incorporate modern trends in patient care and treatment into daily practice.
