In the framework of a national project «Science and Universities», OSMU scientists develop a new method for early detection of gastric cancer, which will create an effective system of personalized risk assessment for the development of sporadic intestinal-type gastric cancer. This type of tumor is a common and dangerous one: it is the 4th most deadly cancer. That is why it is crucial to implement new methods of diagnosis and prevention.
The project is implemented and hosted by the Omsk State Medical University and is supervised by the Omsk Scientific and Educational Center. The developed diagnostic algorithm will make it possible to use the new method in the clinical work of a specialist while assessing the predisposition to develop gastric cancer in patients. Newly created solutions are planned to be implemented in the medical education program, including higher vocational education and courses for advanced professional training.
