OSMU signed the agreement on scientific cooperation with Eurasian Association of Therapists in the field of «AURA Register» (Register of Real Clinical Practice) direction. The project aims to identify albuminuria among patients with previously undiagnosed chronic kidney disease. Albuminuria more than 30 mg/dL indicates impaired renal function and is associated with an increased risk of progressive loss of kidney function over time. That is why timely detection of albuminuria, early diagnosis of pathological processes, and the necessary treatment prescription will significantly slow down the development of chronic kidney disease in the long term.
Scientists of the Internal Medicine (Out-Patient Setting) Department, under the guidance of Prof. Inna A. VICTOROVA, MD, PhD Head of the Department, will contribute to the study of the prevalence of albuminuria, the identification of phenotypes of patients at risk of developing albuminuria in the Russian population. They will also take part in the formation of the register of patients, including information on the clinical condition, the results of physical examination, laboratory and instrumental diagnostic methods. The albuminuria testing will be free of charge for patients. The obtained data will contribute to the improvement of diagnostic and treatment algorithms aimed at improving the prognosis of patients at risk of the progression of chronic kidney disease and other causes of albuminuria, including those with a high risk for cardiovascular diseases.
