OSMU team of the Faculty of Dentistry participated in the International Olympiad "Battle of Dentists", which took place in Bishkek at the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA).
Our university was represented by the team "Smiles of Siberia": Denis KHIZHUK, Mikhail SMIRNOV, Alina BUT, Svetlana ROMANTSOVA, Viktoria CHUMACHENKO, Anastasia MAKSIMENKO under the supervision of Alexander V. KHIZHUK, DMD, Asst. Prof. of the Prosthodontics Department, and Irina M. VOLOSHINA, DMD, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Educational Work.
The Olympiad included homework and five stages in various specialties of dentistry, as well as tests, a blitz tournament, and a scientific report. Each of the tasks implied both theoretical and practical parts with manual skills and clinical thinking. Based on the results of all competitions, our university team took second place, losing first to the Sapphire team from KSMA (Bishkek).
The jury and guests noted the high level of training of the teams and the organization of the Olympiad, interesting and complex tasks. Such events contribute to the exchange of experiences between colleagues from different countries and the development of dentistry for all participants. The Olympiad "Battle of Dentists-2025" has become not only a bright professional event, but also a platform for communication, mutual help, and cultural exchange between young specialists.
Our university took part in the events organized by KSMA for the first time, and we hope that this is only the first step in further fruitful cooperation. We thank the staff of the departments who trained worthy students and congratulate OSMU team on their victory!
