The OSMU volunteer head office increases the amount of aid to fight against the coronavirus. Students work really hard dealing with a great number of requests from those people who are in self-isolation.
Ilya EKIMOV, the regional coordinator of the Russian volunteer movement in the sphere of healthcare “Medical Volunteers” tells about their work, “Due to the growing number of requests our head office had to increase the number of volunteers. Our mobile teams consist of about 20 people each. If it is necessary we will engage more people.
We have also started to work in a new area – delivery of free food packages to low-income population. We take the phone calls from the federal hotline and work closely with the Regional Government. We also have the right to use the government-owned cars to deliver food products.
Our primary task in the nearest future is to increase the amount of free food packages and medicines for those who are in urgent need.”
