On May 4, The International scientific and practical conference “Professionals are made, not born” was held at the Department of Dentistry and Orthodontics of Medical Academy named after S. I. Georgievsky of Vernadsky Crimean Federal University. Within the framework of the Conference, the XIX International Competition of Professional Skills of Dental Students for the Best Restoration Work among 3rd-4th year students was held.
The event aimed to develop international cooperation between the dentistry faculties of medical universities, identify creative abilities, and develop practical skills of students, as well as increase interest in research activities.
OSMU was represented by Daniela LOPATINA, Evgeny DOLGOV, Anastasia KORFIDOVA, Maxim SHENKNECHT, and Alina-Dolores SHENKNECHT.
The first half of the event was devoted to the competition of the professional skills of the students for the best restoration work on the phantom, where Daniela LOPATINA won first place in the nomination for "The Best Anatomical Shape of the Tooth".
In the second part of the event, a scientific and practical conference was held, at which students presented their reports. Anastasia KORFIDOVA and Evgeny DOLGOV presented the report “The use of optical technologies in therapeutic dentistry. The relevance of the use of optical imaging systems in the restoration of the tooth" and took first place in the nomination "The Best Disclosure of the Topic". Maxim SHENKNECHT and Alina-Dolores SHENKNECHT presented a report entitled "Algorithm for photography in the process of teeth modeling" and won first place in the nomination "Best Scientific Report".
