On April 17, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Professionals are not born, they are made" was held. Within the framework of the Conference the XXI International Competition of Professional Skills of Dental Students for the best restorative work among 3rd-4th year students was held online.
This year, OSMU was represented by 4th-year students of the Faculty of Dentistry Daria KOURNIKOVA and Victoria MAKHROVA. The Conference was held in two stages: the first half of the event was dedicated to the competition for the best restoration work on a phantom, and the second part was a scientific and practical conference, where students presented their reports.
As a result Daria KOURNIKOVA took second place in the nomination "Best competition work on restoration" and first place in the nomination "Professional disclosure of the topic" for a scientific report (scientific supervisor - Anna V. CHEKINA, DMD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Preventive Dentistry Department), meanwhile Victoria MAKHROVA won the first place in the nomination "Best Lighting Solution" (scientific supervisor - Kira V. VETKOVA, DMD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Preventive Dentistry Department).
The international competition attracted students from different cities of Russia and foreign countries: Omsk, Ufa, Simferopol, Kirov, Minsk, Tashkent. International events allow to develop and maintain cooperation between dental faculties of medical universities, and also increase interest in scientific and practical activities. Medicine without borders!
