Scientific Conference «Burning Issues in Diagnosis and Treatment of the Digestive Disorders»

 
OSMU hosted the Scientific Conference «Burning Issues in Diagnosis and Treatment of the Digestive Disorders», which was dedicated to the current topics: functional gastrointestinal disorders, peptic ulcer, ulcerative colitis, and liver pathology. All these issues were considered by the leading specialists of the Russian Federation.
The welcoming speech was delivered by Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, PhD, Rector of OSMU,
Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Internal Medicine (Intermediate Level) and Gastroenterology Department. She later presented her reports «Bile reflux gastritis: modern approaches to diagnosis and treatment», «Functional gastrointestinal diseases: the path to diagnosis and effective treatment», «Normalization of body weight - minimizing risks», «Antibiotic-associated diarrhea: how to avoid mistakes», and «Hepatic Encephalopathy Syndrome: knowledge a practicing physician needs».
 
Prod. Marina F. OSIPENKO, MD, PhD, Head of the Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases Department of Novosibirsk State Medical University, spoke about the differential diagnosis of diseases of the colon.
 
Elena A. LYALYUKOVA, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Internal Medicine and Family Medicine (Postgraduate Course)  Department of OSMU, presented her report «Trophologic insufficiency: learning how to recognize and correct».
 
Prof. Vadim A. AKHMEDOV, MD, PhD, Head of the Medical Rehabilitation (Postgraduate Course) Department of OSMU, told about the features of the course of irritable bowel syndrome amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
The difficult topic «Drug-induced liver injury in the modern world» was expanded by Inna A. OGANEZOVA, MD, PhD, Professor of the S.M. Ryss Propedeutics of Internal Diseases, Gastroenterology and Dietology Department of the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov.
 
Tatiana S. KROLEVETS, MD, PhD, Prof. Asst. of the Internal Medicine (Intermediate Level) and Gastroenterology Department made a presentation called «Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease: Digest 2022».
 
Galiya R. BIKBAVOVA, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Internal Medicine (Advanced Course) and Endocrinology Department, made a review of the clinical guidelines for inflammatory bowel diseases, and Olga V. GAUS, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Internal Medicine (Intermediate Level) and Gastroenterology Department, how to avoid mistakes in dietary management of IBS
 
The conference ended with a speech by Marina F. OSIPENKO dedicated to the exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
 
The conference once again confirmed the great interest of doctors in a comprehensive discussion of problems - only a coordinated interdisciplinary approach to patients with GI disorders can increase the efficacy of treatment.
