On November 14, a Scientific Conference "Fighting diabetes mellitus-2024" was held. The purpose of the Conference was to enhance the professional level of specialists in various fields, improve the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes mellitus, its complications and associated diseases.
The Conference started with a welcome speech of Prof. Inna V. DRUK, MD, PhD, Head of the OSMU Department of Internal and Family Medicine, where she emphasized the importance and complexity of the problem of diabetes mellitus at the present time and the need for a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of patients.
Leading specialists in internal diseases and endocrinology were the speakers of the Conference. Among them: Elena A. RYAPOLOVA, MD, PhD, Deputy Director of the Omsk Region Fund of Compulsory Insurance, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of the OSMU Department of Internal and Family Medicine, with the report "A new National project "Long and active life"; Lyudmila Yu. RADIONOVA, MD, Chief External Specialist in Endocrinology of the Omsk region, Head of the Endocrinology Department of the Omsk Regional Clinical Hospital, with the report on the fulfillment of the goals and objectives of the federal target program "Combating diabetes Mellitus"; Oksana I. GOROSHCHENYA, MD, Head of the Endocrinology Department of the Omsk Out-Patient Clinic № 13, with her report on the clinical and statistical analysis of the federal register of diabetes mellitus in the Omsk region for 2024; Natalia Yu. VLASENKO, MD, PhD, Chief External Specialist in pediatric endocrinology of Omsk region, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Pediatrics (Advanced Level), including Postgraduate Training Courses, who told about current trends in pediatric diabetology; and Elena A. BYKOVA, MD, endocrinologist of the Clinical Cardiology Center, with the report on the most important issues of the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus.
The event was attended by more than 130 people. In the discussion, the speakers and listeners expressed a unanimous opinion on the need to preserve the tradition of the annual conference dedicated to Diabetes Day, emphasizing the importance of professional communication, discussion and search for solutions to existing problems, sharing positive experiences, improving the level of education and quality of medical care provided to patients with diabetes mellitus.
