On May 17, 2023, the seminar «Helminthiasis in Ophthalmology» was held in the lecture hall of the V.P. Vykhodtsev Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital within the framework of the meeting of the Ophthalmology Society of the Omsk Region. The seminar was held in the format of a video conference, which allowed colleagues from all over the Omsk Region to join the event.
The theoretical part of the conference was opened by Evgenia V. MOLCHANOVA, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Ophthalmology Department of OSMU, who presented the report «Ocular parasitic infections». In her speech, Evgenia MOLCHANOVA told about the most common eye diseases, such as myiasis, cysticercosis, echinococcosis, leishmaniasis, and nematodiasis.
Ekaterina A. STEPANOVA, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Ophthalmology Department of OSMU, delivered the report called «Dirofilariasis. Difficulties in diagnosing parasitic orbital diseases».
Tatiana IU. MATNENKO, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Ophthalmology Department of OSMU, unveiled the clinical aspects of posterior intraocular helminthiasis, presenting clinical cases in the photo- and video-format.
Due to technical problems, Anna P. SHAKHALOVA, ophthalmologist, laser surgeon, Head of the Laser Department of Tonus AMARIS (Nizhny Novgorod), was unable to voice her report, but Evgenia MOLCHANOVA presented the practical part instead of her colleague.
