The LXXXII Scientific Conference for Students and Young Researchers «Burning Issues in Experimental and Clinical Medicine - 2021» was held at First Pavlov State Medical University, St. Petersburg, on April 1-29.
The session «Preventive Dentistry and Periodontology» was held online on April 14 and attracted 14 participants from Russian (Kazan, Izhevsk, Saint Petersburg, Omsk) and Belarusian (Vitebsk) Universities. OSMU was represented by Kirill N. KURYATNIKOV, a resident of the Dentistry Department, and Anna SKURIKHINA and Alexander BONDAR, the 3rd -year students of the Dentistry Faculty. Their report «Comparative Assessment of Rate and Quality of Maturation of Mineral Component of Human Teeth Enamel in Local Hypoplasia» was granted a 3rd place Diploma and a special prize from Prof. Lyudmila Yu. OREKHOVA, a Chairperson of the Jury Panel.
The session «Surgical Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery» took place on-site at the Central Research Institute of Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery on April 22, 2021. OSMU team, including the students of the Dentistry Faculty, Anna SKURIKHINA, Alexander BONDAR, Vladislav SERGEEV, and a student of the Faculty of General Medicine, Leonid GAFNER, was granted a 3rd place diploma for the report «Algorithm for Management of Patients with Sjogren's Syndrome at a Dental Appointment». Both works were performed under the supervision of Andrey S. KORSHUNOV, a Professor Assistant of the Dentistry Department.
