The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the OSMU Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology was marked by a scientific conference with the participation of leading specialists in mental health from Omsk, Moscow, Kazan, Noyabrsk and Omsk.
The opening speech of the conference was declared by Prof. Olga V. KORPACHEVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine) Vice-rector for Research at OSMU. In her speech Prof. KORPACHEVA noted the importance of the results of the department work in educational and scientific fields and wished the Department success and new achievements for the benefit of healthcare and medical science. And in recognition of the merits of the staff of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology, they were awarded certificates of honor from OSMU.
The reports presented at the plenary and breakout sessions of the Conference were devoted to the quality of specialized care, the specifics of managing patients with various mental disorders, modern aspects of choosing antidepressants in the practice of a psychiatrist, taking into account comorbid pathology, digital technologies in psychiatry, personnel training in the Omsk region for psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care, the results and prospects of postgraduate medical training in the field of psychiatry and many other relevant topics.
