The 13th National Forum on Heart Failure and Myocardial Diseases concluded its work with the support of the National Society for the Study of Heart Failure and Myocardial Diseases, the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region, and E.I. Chazov National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery.

Among the deputy chairpersons and members of the organizing committee were representatives of our University: Prof. Olga Yu. KORENNOVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Chief Cardiologist of Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region, Chief Physician of the Clinical Cardiology Dispensary, Professor of OSMU Department of Internal and Family Medicine, including Postgraduate Training Courses, and Assoc. Prof. Inna V. DRUK, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Head of the OSMU Department  of Internal and Family Medicine, including Postgraduate Training Courses, Head of the Department for the Development of Regional Healthcare and Medical Activities at OSMU, and member of the working group of the Russian Cardiology Society "Cardiovascular Diseases in Diabetes Mellitus."

The program of the forum featured reports from experts from different regions, including specialists of E.I. Chazov National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery (Moscow) Prof. Sergey N. TERESHCHENKO, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Head of the Department of Myocardial Diseases and Heart Failure, Chairperson of the Board of the National Society for the Study of Heart Failure and Myocardial Diseases, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, as well as leading researchers of the Department of Myocardial Diseases Prof. Igor V. ZHIROV and Prof. Tatiana M. USKACH.

OSMU representatives as well as speakers from regional cardiology dispensaries and CHF treatment centers discussed both the organization of a specialized medical care for patients and modern approaches to diagnosis, treatment (including surgical), prevention, and rehabilitation. Report of Prof. Olga Yu. KORENNOVA on the clinical and organizational aspects of providing medical care to patients with cardiovascular diseases in the Omsk region was presented at the forum’s plenary session, and her presentations were then delivered during almost every symposium.

Assoc. Prof. Inna V. DRUK opened the symposium “Cardiology in the Nuances” with her presentation on risk factors for diastolic dysfunction in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension without associated cardiovascular diseases. Assoc. Prof. Inna V. DRUK specializes at the intersection of cardiology and endocrinology — primarily in heart failure in patients with type 2 diabetes, cardiometabolic comorbidity, and cardiac rehabilitation after acute coronary syndrome; therefore, the topic of her report was related to cardiovascular risks in patients with diabetes and metabolic disorders.

The symposium continued with a presentation by Yulia E. YUKHINA, Prof. Asst. of the OSMU Department of Internal and Family Medicine, including Postgraduate Training Courses, Head of the day hospital at Omsk Clinical Cardiology Dispensary, and winner of the regional stage of the Russian Competition of Doctors in the “Best Cardiologist” category in 2026 about hyporesponse to statin therapy in patients with very high cardiovascular risk.
Thus, leading cardiologists examined the most pressing issues related to heart failure in Russia over the course of two days, during plenary sessions and symposia, as well as through an exhibition of pharmaceutical companies, including issues related to the organization of specialized services and providing care to patients with end‑stage disease.
