On October 28-29, 2024, Moscow hosted the 3rd National Congress with International Participation «National Healthcare».
Igor V. LEONOV, Senior Lecturer of the OSMU Department of Public Health and Healthcare Management, represented OSMU at the plenary session held on October 29 at the State Kremlin Palace.
The plenary session highlighted key areas of advancement and strategic priorities for the Russian healthcare system, drawing on the legacy of N. A. SEMASHKO, a distinguished Soviet healthcare leader. Vladimir V. PUTIN, President of the Russian Federation, delivered the opening speech, while Tatyana A. GOLIKOVA, Deputy Prime Minister, moderated the session. Other prominent speakers included Mikhail A. MURASHKO, Minister of Health; Valery N. FALKOV, Minister of Science and Higher Education; and Anna Yu. POPOVA, Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being.
The discussions focused on essential priorities for advancing the Russian healthcare system, including promoting individual health, ensuring equitable access to medical services nationwide, integrating prevention and treatment, involving the public in healthcare policy, safeguarding public health, applying scientific methods to healthcare management, ensuring access to healthy nutrition, and providing affordable, modern medical products.
