From June 1 to 5, 2026, OSMU Department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology held the brochure competition on the prevention of tick-borne infections. The event was designed to raise student awareness of tick-borne disease prevention measures. Over one hundred foreign students of the Faculty of General Medicine, as well as students from the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in the competition.
Participants prepared informational brochures highlighting key aspects of prevention:
- tick bites prevention;
- methods of self-examination and safe tick removal;
- the importance of prompt medical attention.
The best works were submitted to the Omsk Research Institute of Natural Focal Infections.
The organizers noted the high level of preparation of the participants and their creative approach to covering an important medical topic. Such events help to reinforce knowledge in the field of microbiology and develop skills of awareness building.
