
On June 18, the interregional scientific conference "Modern Directions in Laboratory Medicine" was held in the main building of our University. It was dedicated to the successes and prospects of clinical laboratory diagnostics. The Event, organized by the OSMU Department Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, including Postgraduate Training Courses, the Omsk Regional Public Organization "Association of Specialists in Laboratory Medicine " and the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region, brought together leading industry experts and more than 70 medical specialists from our region.
The welcoming speech was given by Assoc. Prof. Anton V. INDUTNY, MD, PhD, Head of the OSMU Department of OSMU Department Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, including Postgraduate Training Courses, Chairperson of the board of the Omsk regional public organization "Association of Laboratory Medicine Specialists". In his speech Prof. Anton V. INDUTNY noted the importance of continuous education and the introduction of innovative technologies into the practice of laboratory medicine. During the Conference, Ludmila A. TSARKOVA, MD, the Chief External Specialist of the Ministry of Health in Omsk Region, presented key aspects of the development of the laboratory service of the Omsk region. The participants were greatly interested in the report on modern approaches to the diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome by Dmitry G. NOVIKOV, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the OSMU Department of OSMU Department Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, including Postgraduate Training Courses, and the message on current issues of computerization of the laboratory service by Elena V. Pakhalkova, MD, PhD, the Head of the "Omsk Clinical Perinatal Center". The guests of the conference shared relevant laboratory and medical information with the audience: Anastasiia P. ZIMA, MD, PhD, Prof. of the Pathophysiology Department of SibSMU (Tomsk) presented new data on the use of laboratory technologies for determining glycated hemoglobin, and Elena A. KAZINETS, MD, PhD, Head of the Transfusiology Department of Novosibirsk Hospital No. 25, presented a report on new technological solutions and approaches in immunohematology.
Report of Natalia L. SAMUSEVA, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the OSMU Department of OSMU Department Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, including Postgraduate Training Courses, PhD, on the achievements and prospects of automating hematological analysis became a notable event of the Conference. This report outlined modern concepts of automating hematological analysis and presented the results of comparative tests of the new Yenisei-F880 hematological analyzer (Russia). The staff of the Department of OSMU Department Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, including Postgraduate Training Courses, based on their own experience of comparative tests, thus had the opportunity to consult doctors of the regional laboratory service on the issues of modernization of the instrument park in medical organizations. Given the high interest in this kind of information, such tests are planned to be carried out in the future.
During the Conference, the negotiation process was opened with potential sponsors on the creation of a reference laboratory on the basis of the OSMU, equipped with Lidlab products on the terms of free use of equipment. It is expected to provide the latest hematological, immunochemiluminescent and biochemical analyzers of Russian manufacture.
The organizers thank all the participants of the Conference for their active work and express confidence that the presented scientific and practical developments and methodological principles are in high demand in everyday laboratory and clinical practice.
