On November 9, the Interregional Scientific Conference «The health of the child is the health of the nation. From the first steps» was held. It was dedicated to the burning issues of children's health care and included the presentation and discussion of interesting clinical cases. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region and the Omsk State Medical University.
In the welcoming speech, Prof. Elena B. PAVLINOVA, MD, PhD, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Head of the Pediatrics (Advanced Course) Department, mentioned the Omsk School of Pediatrics and its founder Valentina P. BISYARINA, a member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, who set up many traditions that pediatricians still honor and support.
During the Conference, the participants discussed problems related to the prevention of RVI, antiviral therapy, diagnosis and treatment of allergic rhinitis in children of different age groups, diseases of the pancreas and EPI, constipation in preschool children, atopic dermatitis, bronchial asthma, inflammatory pathologies of intranasal structures, perinatal brain damage, hereditary metabolic disorders.
The event brought together speakers from Moscow, Kazan, Novosibirsk, and Omsk, including Prof. Olga V. ZAYTSEVA, MD, PhD, Honored Doctor of Russia, Head of the Pediatrics Department of A.I. Yevdokimov Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry; Vera V. ZELENSKAYA, MD, PhD, Prof. of the Pediatrics (Postgraduate Course) Department of the Novosibirsk State Medical University; Prof. Rezeda A. Several reports were co-authored with Elena B. PAVLINOVA. One of them called «Outcomes of perinatal brain lesions in children: is everything so obvious?”» was presented by Olga A. SAVCHENKO, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Pediatrics (Advanced Course) Department, and the other report «Personalized diabetology: from research to clinical use» was presented by Natalia Yu. The Interregional Scientific Conference «The health of the child is the health of the nation. From the first steps» became the landmark event in the life of both Omsk State Medical University and the entire pediatric community, as it gave the researchers the opportunity to share their knowledge, practicing doctors – to acquire new knowledge, and students – to join the scientific potential of the pediatric community.
