On September 12-13, the International Scientific Conference «Astana Biotech 2024» dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the National Center for Biotechnology of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Astana (Kazakhstan).
The International Forum gathered together well-known scientists and specialists from research centers, institutes, and higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Hungary, the USA, and the United Arab Emirates. In particular, the reports were presented by such leading scientists as R.I. BERSIMBAYU (Academician of the Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences, Head of the Research Institute of Cell Biology and Biotechnology, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Astana, Kazakhstan), D. SARBASOV (PhD, Chief Officer of the National Laboratory Astana, Nazarbayev University, Astana, Kazakhstan), V. N. DANILENKO (Head of the Department of Genetic Foundations of Biotechnology, the Vavilov Institute of General Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia), I.V. MOKROUSOV (PhD in Biology, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics at St. Petersburg Pasteur Institute), R. SONG (PhD, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering Affiliation, New York University, Abu Dhabi), M.L. FILIPENKO (PhD in Biology, Head of the Pharmacogenomics Laboratory, Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences).
OSMU was represented by Dmitry G. NOVIKOV, MD, PhD, Head of the Research Laboratory, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, including Postgraduate Training Courses. In the report «The use of fluorescent microscopy and ELISA test for studying NETosis in tuberculosis in children» he presented the method for studying neutrophil extracellular traps developed by OSMU Research Laboratory and the results of its studies carried out in OSMU Research Laboratory with the support of the Russian Science Foundation.
According to the results of the report competition, Dmitry G. NOVIKOV was declared the winner in the nomination «Best Oral Presentation» in the section «Biomedical Technologies».
