On March 30, Omsk Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital hosted the Interregional Scientific Conference «Bronchiectasis: cystic fibrosis and more...», aimed at presenting evidence-based approaches to diagnostics of diseases accompanied by bronchiectasis.
Speakers from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Omsk presented their recent research both online and offline. The event included several symposiums and a roundtable. The main topics of the symposiums included «Bronchiectasis. Current state of the issue», «Antibiotic therapy in cystic fibrosis», Bronchiectasis treatment, Clinical case reviews in targeted therapy of cystic fibrosis. The round table was devoted to the organization of care for patients with cystic fibrosis. A special section was organized for parents of patients, where they could get comprehensive answers to their questions about the disease.
OSMU was represented by Prof. Elena B. PAVLINOVA, MD, PhD, Head of the OSMU Department of Pediatrics (Advanced Course). She presented 3 reports. The first one was entitled «Home-based antibiotic therapy (experience of the Omsk Region)», prepared together with Tatiana I. SAFONOVA, Head of the Pulmonology Department of the Omsk Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, Head of the Omsk Cystic Fibrosis Center, Chief External Specialist in Pediatric Pulmonology of the Omsk Region.
Elena B. PAVLINOVA, Tatiana I. SAFONOVA, and Daria A. BELIKOVA, a doctor of the Pulmonology Department of the Omsk Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, have also presented a report entitled «Experience with targeted therapy in patients of the Omsk Cystic Fibrosis Center». Another report co-authored with Tatiana I. SAFONOVA was devoted to achievements and unsolved problems in combating cystic fibrosis in our Region.
The reports raised the great interest of the audience and provoked a vivid discussion, which proved the relevance of the presented topics.
