
Pelvic organ disorders in children represent a broad and complex group of conditions that significantly impair the quality of life of young patients, often requiring interdisciplinary care and long-term management strategies. On May 16, 2025, the Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital hosted the Interregional Scientific Conference «Current Issues in Pediatric Pelvic Pathologies».
The Forum was officially opened by Olga N. BOGDANOVA, Deputy Minister of Health of the Omsk Region; Prof. Sergey P. YATSIK, MD, PhD, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor of the Department of Pediatric Surgery named after S.Ya. Doletskiy of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education; and Prof. Olga V. KORPACHEVA, MD, PhD, OSMU Vice-Rector for Research, and Head of the Department of Pathophysiology. The speakers extended a warm welcome to the conference participants and underscored the significance of this annual academic tradition.
This year, the Conference gathered leading experts in pediatric pelvic surgery from cities including Moscow, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, and Kemerovo. Held in a hybrid format, the event featured presentations from delegates representing both Western Siberia and major medical centers in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
The host institution was well represented among the speakers. Prof. Andrey V. PISKLAKOV, MD, PhD, presented a report entitled «Enuresis in Children: Contemporary Treatment Approaches». Assoc. Prof. Natalya A. POLYANSKAYA, MD, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Pediatrics at OSMU, delivered a talk entitled «Constipation in Children: From Symptom to Diagnosis». Assoc. Prof. Andrey S. SHEVLYAKOV, MD, PhD, discussed «Modern Aspects of Diagnosing Bladder Dysfunction in Children». Gynecologist-Obstetrician Mariya V. DUKA shared insights in her lecture «Adnexal Torsion in Pediatric Patients», and Alina S. KOSTYUCHENKO presented a report on «Residual Urine Volume: Diagnostic Opportunities».
