The Interregional Scientific Conference «Modern Medical Technologies in Clinical Practice»

The Interregional Scientific Conference «Modern Medical Technologies in Clinical Practice» took place to celebrate the Centenary of the West-Siberian Medical Center of Federal Medical-Biological Agency.

In the opening speech, Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, PhD, OSMU Rector, Chief External Specialist in Internal Diseases in Siberian Federal District, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Member of the Conference Organizing Committee, noted that over the years West Siberian Medical Center has grown into a leading medical institution known for its impressive scientific potential and top-notch healthcare service.

«Selfless work of several generations of specialists resulted in the massive success of the Center. To this day staff cherish and develop the traditions of their predecessors and constantly open up new horizons for development», - said Maria A. LIVZAN.

Vladimir Yu. SHUTOV, MD, PhD, Director of the West-Siberian Medical Center, Prof. of the Department of Surgery (Intermediate Level) and Urology, has presented a report devoted to the Centenary of the Center, and then the Conference continued in a hybrid format (off-line and on-line) in two sections: «Medical Rehabilitation: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow» and «Burning Issues of Surgical Hepatology».

The leading specialists of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency and Ministry of Public Health addressed the issues of organization and development of medical rehabilitation, nervous and musculoskeletal system recovery, and medical rehabilitation of patients with internal diseases, including COVID-19.

OSMU staff presented several reports. In her report on COVID-19 rehabilitation, Maria A. LIVZAN focused on the effects of the disease on the digestive system. Prof. Assoc. Inna V. DRUK, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Family Medicine (Postgraduate Course), Member of the Conference Program Committee, told about post-COVID changes in the endocrine system. Maria V. VERSHININA, MD, PhD, Prof. of the Department of Internal Medicine and Family Medicine (Postgraduate Course), presented important information on post-COVID medical rehabilitation in pulmonology. Elena V. NADEI, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Department of Internal Diseases and Family Medicine (Postgraduate Course), focused on medical rehabilitation of post-COVID syndrome from the perspective of allergology.
