The Interregional Scientific Conference with International Participation dedicated to the Centenary of the Omsk ENT Clinic, timed to coincide with the International Day of Voice, took place on March 14-15. The event attracted general practitioners, ENT specialists, allergists, pediatricians.
Prof. Elena B. PAVLINOVA, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Pediatrics (Advanced Course), Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, delivered welcoming speech on behalf of Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, PhD, OSMU Rector, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She noted the great importance of the event for the development of regional otorhinolaryngology.
The Conference became a platform for leading specialists from the OSMU Departments and Research Centers and Institutes from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Astana. Speakers presented their researches on many burning issues, including treatment of upper respiratory tract pathologies, paranasal sinuses, pharynx, larynx and ear, tracheostomy in children and much more. Prof. Yuriy A. KROTOV, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, and Klimentina I. NESTEROVA, Prof. of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, were moderators of the discussions.
The program of the Сonference included both lectures and workshops on the management of difficult ENT diseases. Specialists did a critical evidence-based analysis of the current Russian and international clinical guidelines.
