The National Student Olympiad with international participation «Life Safety in the Modern Era», was held on March 14-15, 2024, at N.N. Burdenko Voronezh State Medical University.
OSMU was represented by the «White Coats» team, including 3rd-year students of the Faculty of General Medicine: Viktoria PRAVDINA (team captain), Arina EROVENKOVA, Valeria KOVALEVSKAYA, and Yaroslava ZABOLOTNAYA. Their scientific supervisor was Assoc. Prof. Vera V. KORNYAKOVA, PhD in Biology, Professor at the OSMU Department of Extreme and Evidence Based Medicine.
The results of the Olympiad were established by assessing three competitions: «Homework», «First Aid», and «Scientific Study». In the first competition, teams produced a video emphasizing the significance of life safety in their personal lives and future professions. The second competition included a first aid skills demonstration. Finally, during the third competition, students presented their scientific research.
The jury panel included representatives from prestigious Universities, including OSMU, N.N. Burdenko Voronezh State Medical University, N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, I.P. Pavlov Ryazan State Medical University, B.N. Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), and S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (Almaty, Kazakhstan). According to the jury's assessment, the OSMU team secured second place in the «Scientific Study» competition, second place in the «First Aid» competition, and third place in the «Homework» competition.
