The National Student Olympiad with International Participation «Modern Dentistry» took place at South Ural State Medical University. The event gathered 5th-year medical students from Omsk, Ufa, Perm, Tyumen, Volgograd, Barnaul, Smolensk, Chelyabinsk, Bukhara and Tashkent. OSMU was represented by Artur VARDANYAN, a student of the Faculty of Dentistry.
The Contest included three stages: preventive dentistry, surgical dentistry and orthopedic dentistry. Workplaces were equipped with technoscopes which positively affected the performance. In the first stage, the participants carried out preparation of the tooth followed by the restoration of the anatomical crown. The surgical stage included suturing the wound surface under the microscope, tooth extraction and further postoperative measures. The final orthopedic stage was a landmark for a participant from our University! Artur VARDANYAN became the winner of this stage of the competition showing the best techniques.
In addition to competition, participants heard lectures from representatives of a leading dental implant company. We thank South Ural State Medical University for the invitation and warm welcome and look forward to fruitful cooperation!
