On April 17, the National Student Poster Competition on Pediatric Dentistry, organized at the initiative of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, concluded. This year, the event was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the OSMU Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
The competition brought together students from Pediatric and Dental Faculties of medical universities in Russia and Belarus. A total of 121 student teams represented universities from Minsk, Omsk, Kirov, Izhevsk, Samara, Volgograd, Perm, Khabarovsk, and Barnaul. Compared to last year, the number of participants doubled, reflecting the growing popularity of the competition among students and faculty members. The selected format made it possible to hold the event online, significantly expanding its geography and enabling participation from various regions of the Russian Federation and neighboring countries.
As in previous years, the jury included faculty members from dental and pediatric departments of medical universities across the country. Participants presented poster presentations on current issues in pediatric dentistry covered in the academic curriculum. The submissions addressed a wide range of relevant topics, including prevention of dental diseases, pediatric therapeutic dentistry, and pediatric maxillofacial surgery.
In a highly competitive environment, the winning teams represented Izhevsk State Medical University and OSMU. The highest score was achieved by the team of students from the OSMU Pediatric Faculty, supervised by Taisiya I. BURNASHOVA, DMD, PhD (in Medicine), Prof. Asst. of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
