On May 19, the final stage of the Regional Professional Competition «Scientist of the Year - 2024. Omsk Region» concluded with a formal awards ceremony honoring the Region’s top students, researchers, postgraduate scholars, journalists, and media professionals.
The Competition was held at the initiative of the Omsk Regional Public Organization «Association of Participants of the Presidential Program» as part of the International Management Summit «Omsk Dialogue – 2025». Its mission was to promote scientific advancement, highlight the achievements of Omsk-based scholars, and encourage the media to actively showcase the contributions of local science.
This was the first time the region hosted such an event, with participants representing the academic community of Omsk’s leading universities. Award categories included: Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Medical Sciences, Humanities, Breakthrough of the Year, and Science Popularization.
Three representatives from Omsk State Medical University were among the winners: in the Breakthrough of the Year category, Assoc. Prof. Andrey S. KORSHUNOV, MD, the Department of Dentistry, including Postgraduate Training Courses; in the Young Scientist category, Kirill N. KURYATNIKOV, Prof. Asst. of the Department of Dentistry, including Postgraduate Training Courses; in the Medical Sciences category, Assoc. Prof. Dmitry G. NOVIKOV, MD, Head of the Central Scientific Research Laboratory, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, including Postgraduate Training Courses.
