The Regional Scientific Conference «Current Issues in Infectious Pathology»

On April 25, experts from OSMU, representatives of the Ministry of Health of Omsk Region, the D.M. Dalmatov Infectious Diseases Hospital №1, the Omsk Regional Society of Infectious Disease Specialists, and the Omsk Branch of the Russian Association of Phthisiatrists gathered to discuss current issues within the framework of the Regional Scientific Conference «Current Issues in Infectious Pathology», dedicated to the memory of Prof. A.D. SAFRONOV.

«Over the past three years, the importance of fighting infectious diseases has been undeniable, particularly given the mobilization of the entire healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic. It's encouraging to witness the presence of young specialists and students at such events, as they serve as crucial educational platforms for acquiring new knowledge and benefiting from the experience of senior colleagues. Wishing you all productive endeavors ahead!» - said Prof. Anna V. MORDYK, MD, PhD, Head of the OSMU Department of Phthisiology, Pulmonology, and Infectious Diseases, in her welcome speech.

The Conference united specialists in infectious diseases, epidemiology, internal medicine, pediatrics, and immunology. They exchanged experiences in combating diverse infectious diseases. Attendees were briefed on the regional HIV epidemiological situation and modern diagnostic and treatment approaches for chronic viral hepatitis and other related conditions. This knowledge will aid them in interpreting laboratory results accurately, selecting optimal treatments, and evaluating treatment outcomes, while adhering to evidence-based principles of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. The ultimate goal is to organize effective and epidemiologically safe specialized medical care for both children and adults.
