The XIII International Forum on Pediatric Dentistry

On September 20-21, 2025, the XIII International Forum on Pediatric Dentistry was held in Moscow. The event is organized annually by the Department of Pediatric Dentistry of the Russian University of Medicine, with support from the Pediatric Dentistry Section of the Russian Dental Association.

The Forum took place at the central conference hall of the Safmar Grand Moscow Hotel and brought together nearly 300 pediatric dentists from across Russia, from Kaliningrad to the Far East, as well as participants from India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus.

Speakers addressed key challenges in pediatric dentistry, explored possible solutions, and highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration with pediatricians, surgeons, psychologists, ENT specialists, immunologists, and other healthcare professionals. Representing OSMU, Prof. Galina I. SKRIPKINA, DMD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, served as chair of the international jury for the young scientists' research competition and moderated the Forum’s first day.

At the close of the first day, the winners were announced for two major competitions: the T.I. Chebakova Award for Best Regional Program on Pediatric Dental Disease Prevention, and the contest «Pediatric Dentistry Through the Eyes of the Young», supported by the Young Scientists Society of the Russian University of Medicine. Awardees received personalized diplomas and prizes.

Among the most anticipated competitions, «Pediatric Dentistry Through the Eyes of the Young» saw active participation from OSMU students and early-career researchers. In total, 37 young scientists from 14 regions of Russia and Belarus presented their projects.

The winner in the student research category was Madina M. URAZOVA, a 5th-year student at the OSMU Faculty of Dentistry. Her study, entitled «Vaping, Tobacco Smoking, and E-Cigarette Use: Impact on Mineral Metabolism in the Oral Cavity of Adolescents», impressed the jury with its originality and relevance. Her scientific advisor was Assoc. Prof. Evgeniy V. EKIMOV, DMD, PhD (in Medicine), OSMU Department of Pediatric Dentistry.

Madina’s achievement was especially noteworthy as it marked her second participation in the Forum. Last year, she earned an honorable second place. Over the past year, she worked diligently to advance her research, taking into account the feedback from last year’s jury. Her efforts were rewarded with the highest score and a well-deserved victory in one of the most prestigious international student research competitions in pediatric dentistry.

We congratulate Madina M. URAZOVA on her outstanding achievement and wish her continued success in her scientific endeavors!
