Topical Issues of Diagnosis and Treatment of the Digestive System Diseases

 
On February 7, the Interregional Scientific Conference "Topical Issues of Diagnosis and Treatment of the Digestive System Diseases" took place at the OSMU College, bringing together therapists, gastroenterologists, general practitioners, as well as PhD students and residents of OSMU.
 
Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, PhD, Rector of OSMU, Corresponding Member of RAS, Head of the Internal Medicine (Intermediate Level) and Gastroenterology Department became the leading speaker of the event. She has prepared several reports about diagnosis, treatment and methods of prevention of the most relevant gastroenterological diseases. Prof. Vadim A. AKHMEDOV, MD, PhD, Head of the Medical Rehabilitation (Postgraduate Course) Department of OSMU presented an up-to-date view on diseases of the biliary tract. Elena A. LYALYUKOVA, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Internal Medicine and Family Medicine (Postgraduate Course) Department of OSMU spoke about screening for cancer of the digestive system, paying special attention to the risk factors of cancer.
Novosibirsk State Medical University (NSMU) was presented by Prof. Marina F. OSIPENKO, MD, PhD, Honored Physician of the Russian Federation, Head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases of the Medical Faculty of NSMU. She made two reports. The first one concerned ways to correct motor dysfunction in the treatment of a patient with gastroesophageal reflux disease, a review of world practice. The second report was devoted to chronic pancreatitis, with an emphasis on the clinical case.
 
Ekaterina V. BELOBORODOVA, MD, Prof. of the Department of Hospital Surgery with a course of Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine at the Siberian State Medical University presented the report "Topical Issues of Hepatology: Analysis of A Clinical Case". In her report, she presented a clinical case of the 54 years old patient.
 
At the end of the Conference, the audience asked questions, which indicated that the relevance of the speeches and topics raised by the speakers is at the forefront of professional interest. The event became an opportunity to share knowledge and practical experience on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive system both in real clinical practice and in the future, considering dynamically developing ideas about the pathogenesis of diseases and targeted therapy.
