As part of cooperation on innovative VR technologies with Samara State Medical University, OSMU became one of the first Universities in Siberia to purchase «Pirogov» 3D Anatomical Atlas. On September 5, the staff of the Department of Human Anatomy and the Department of Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery have started trainings with new digital equipment.
The «Pirogov» Atlas is a unique collection of anatomical models based on textbooks authored by Sinelnikovs, Lev L. Kolesnikov, and Oleg P. Bolshakov. This modern tool for 3D demonstration of the layer-by-layer structure and systems of the human body is an effective training simulator for both self-study and group classes. Now OSMU students will be able to learn not only from anatomical preparations but also with the help of new digital technologies.
