The VIII International Scientific Conference “Burning Issues of Internal Pathology. Connective Tissue Dysplasia” has been held in Omsk. It has been dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Prof. V.M. YAKOVLEV and to the 35th anniversary of OSMU Department of Internal Diseases and Family Medicine for Advanced Professional Training.
Dmitry VYUSHKOV, Minister of Public Health in Omsk Region, congratulated the Omsk State Medical University with the forthcoming centenary and emphasized the particular role of this event for the implementation of the main objective of public health service – reduction in mortality and increase in life expectancy.
Prof. Anatoly MARTYNOV, Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Hospital Therapy №1 at A.I. Yevdokimov Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry, said that the Russian Medical Society of Physicians has been working in close cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health in Russia since 2013 on continuous professional development programme.
Prof. Galina NECHAEVA, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Head of OSMU Department of Internal Diseases and Family Medicine for Advanced Professional Training, highlighted a significant contribution of Prof. Viktor YAKOVLEV, her teacher and founder of the Department, into science. He was the one who offered her the issue of connective tissue dysplasia as the theme for her thesis.
Nikolai NIKOLAEV, OSMU Vice-Rector for Medical Activities and Regional Public Health Issues, provided the participants of the conference with brief information about the Omsk State Medical University.
