Coronavirus pandemic has changed the lives of everyone, including volunteer units. The Volunteer Unit "Smile", the association of medical volunteers of the Dentistry Faculty, is not exception.
Since the start of the restrictive measures, visits to schools and orphanages, interactive workshops, and educational games, remained only in memories. But medical volunteers have found a modern solution. Distant education, which sometimes hinders the learning process, can also broaden the horizons for new ideas.
Volunteers use their account on Instagram as a popular platform with useful and entertaining information, where they can share their knowledge. The page is led by students themselves, who are divided into several creative groups engaged in individual projects. Now the main activity of volunteers is to provide video lessons on oral hygiene, a healthy diet, and pathogenesis of common diseases of the oral cavity. The volunteers have not forgotten about the younger audience and prepared visual learning materials for children.
