«Women’s Health is the Nation’s Health»

«Women’s Health is the Nation’s Health» served as the theme for the Interregional Scientific Conference organized by the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region, the Omsk Regional Public Organization «Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists», and Omsk State Medical University, represented by specialists from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №1. The event united OB/GYN, internists, general practitioners, reproductive specialists, and surgeons, all dedicated to advancing women’s healthcare. In her welcome address, Assoc. Prof. Irina V. SAVELEVA, MD, PhD, Head of the OSMU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №1, highlighted the conference’s primary goal: to enhance the quality of medical care for women within the framework of the Russian Federation’s demographic policy.

The scientific program covered key topics, including pregnancy preparation, urogenital infections, outpatient monitoring, and the prevention of urinary tract infections in pregnant women. Other subjects included pelvic inflammatory diseases, modern management of iron-deficiency anemia in pregnancy, and measures to reduce congenital mortality. The Сonference also addressed endometriosis, enhancing women’s quality of life during menopause, and highlighted recent innovations and future trends in obstetrics and gynecology, along with improved diagnostic protocols and interpretation of clinical findings.

The insights from the Сonference will help participants choose optimal management strategies for their patients, apply timely treatments, and assess their effectiveness. Experts emphasized the value of a multidisciplinary approach in handling high-risk pregnancies, deliveries, and various gynecological conditions.
- Doctors must be confident in the effectiveness and scientific basis of recommended treatment algorithms. Yet even the best are not immune to basic errors. Thus, it’s vital to continually update knowledge, refine practical skills, ask questions openly, and critically evaluate outcomes, - emphasized Irina V. SAVELEVA.
The «Women’s Health is the Nation’s Health» Conference offered an invaluable platform for obstetricians and gynecologists to exchange insights, share experiences, and explore innovations in maternal and child healthcare. This collaboration significantly contributed to preserving and advancing the scientific legacy of leading experts, training skilled medical professionals, and strengthening practical healthcare ties with top specialists from our University.
