World Pulmonologist Day
Since 1997, World Pulmonologist Day is observed on May 17, aimed at expressing immense gratitude to doctors for their hard work.
In 1628, the discovery of the venous circulatory system initiated the study of lung function. In the 17th-18th centuries, lung diseases began to be diagnosed, and in the 19th century, the pathology of the respiratory system became the subject of experiments and observations. The research of Sechenov and Pashutin on the composition of the air brought a new perspective on respiratory diseases.
Today, pulmonology is a rapidly developing field of medicine, and specialists diagnose most cases at an early stage.
Congratulations to our colleagues on their professional holiday!
