XXII Congress of the Russian Society of Medical Historians

 
On November 13-14, 2025 The XXII Congress of the Russian Society of Medical Historians was held in Moscow. This year's Congress was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and World War II. The event was organized by the N.A. Semashko National Research Institute of Public Health and the Russian University of Medicine.
 
The Congress was attended by specialists from medical universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa, Arkhangelsk and many other cities of the country. Within the framework of the Congress of the Russian Society of Medical Historians, the participants summed up the work for 2024-2025. The key topics were the preservation of the military memorial heritage, the digitization of historical materials and the training of young specialists. The events clearly demonstrated the inextricable link between historical experience and modern medical challenges.
 
Another bright event within the framework of the Congress was the XV Russian Scientific Conference with international participation "Medical Museums of Russia: The state and prospects of development". Igor V. LEONOV, MD, PhD (in Medicine), Senior lecturer at the Department of Public Health and Health Management made a report, devoted to the scientific biography of Prof. V.V. DALMATOV and his contribution to Russian epidemiology. The report was received with interest by the audience, and the importance of evaluating the historical experience of scientific medical schools was emphasized.
