The Omsk Region Government Youth Prize for the Encouragement of Young Scientists was awarded to five young scientists for the results of scientific research that made a significant contribution to the development of natural, technical and humanitarian sciences, the development of samples of new equipment and advanced technologies that ensure the innovative development of the economy and social sphere in 2024.
This year, Vyacheslav A. RUBTSOV, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the OSMU Department of Pathological Anatomy got the award for his research of the expression of molecular markers in early and pronounced precancerous changes in the gastric mucosa to assess the risk of developing gastric cancer.
The result of his research was the development and implementation in healthcare of a new approach, principles of pathomorphological monitoring, aimed at increasing the predictive significance of biopsy examination of the gastric mucosa by stratifying early precancerous changes in the gastric mucosa depending on the risk of developing gastric cancer by assessing epigenetic, immunohistochemical markers in the tissues of the gastric mucosa, as well as evaluating ways to increase expert consent when forming conclusions for intraepithelial neoplasia (dysplasia) of the mucous membrane, gastric adenocarcinoma, and optimizing the stages of the study.
