The Pediatric Dentistry Department was established in 1976. Prof. Assoc. Nikolai N. KOSACHEV, MD, PhD was assigned as a first Head of the Department.
In 1982-1986, the Department was headed by Prof. Valery K. LEONTIEV, MD, PhD.
In 1986-2012, the Department was led by Prof. Valery G. SUNTSOV, MD, PhD. The period had been marked by studying the pathogenetic substantiation of methods of diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, and treatment of the oral cavity diseases in children and adolescents.
