In September 2004, the Department of General Medicine was established. It was located in the A.N. Kabanov Omsk Hospital №1. In September 2019, it was renamed to the Department of Internal Medicine and Out-Patient Care.
Professor Inna A. VIKTOROVA was assigned as the Head of the Department and continues to be its leader till present time. She is a Principal External Specialist in General Medicine of the Ministry of Public Health in Omsk Region, and a Chairperson of the General Practitioners' Association.
The Department actively cooperates with all out-patient and rehabilitation units of the Omsk Hospital №1, and OSMU Departments of Internal Medicine. National Project "
Healthcare" aimed at the development and organization the GP offices to make the medical care proper and available for the population in Russia. To achieve this aim, the staff of the Department trains doctors in modern methods of diagnostics and treatment in the out-patient stage and how to implement the new preventive technologies at the stage of primary medical care.
