The Department was established in 1921 headed by Prof. Ksenofont M. GRECHISCHEV.
In 1940-1973, the Department was led by Prof. Leonid M. MASLOV, who compiled a sanitary setting of the water reservoirs in the Western Siberia, which was used for the design and development of the general scheme of the country's water supply system.
In 1973-1997, the Department was headed by Prof. Dmitry N. TARASEVICH, who studied hygienic aspects of the productive forces of the Omsk Region and the rationale for measures to preserve the environment and public health.
The Department of Hygiene of Children and Adolescents was led by Assoc. Prof. Alexander I. BALANDIN, MD, and Valeria A. BALANDINA, MD, PhD.
In 1997, the Department of Common Hygiene was united with the Department of Hygiene of Children and Adolescents. The new Department was headed by Prof. Gennadiy A. OGLEZNEV. The outcomes of his studies on the issues of women’s occupational health have been put into practice at the state and regional levels as recommendations, regulations and laws.
