Brief History

Epidemiology Department was established in 1943 at the Omsk Research Institute of Epidemiology, Microbiology and Hygiene of the Ministry of Health of the RSFSR. Prof. Assoc. Mark V. LOS was assigned as the first Head of the Department.
 
In different periods the Department was headed by:
1949-1953 – Prof. Assoc. Semen G. GERMAN
1953-1959 – Prof. Assoc. Yuriy V. VESELOV
1959-1972 – Anna P. POLYAKOVA
1972-2005 – Prof. Viktor V. DALMATOV, MD, PhD, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Chief Epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District.
Since 2005 – Prof. Vladimir L. STASENKO, MD, PhD
